Wilbur Ronald Davisson

September 10, 1932 — December 12, 2022

W. Ronald Davisson (Ron), nicknamed Sonny, was 90 years of age when he went to be with Jesus on December 12, 2022, leaving all his pain, suffering, and difficulties behind. He died at home in Preston, ID, accompanied by his wife, Lorna, of heart failure. He was a “hanger-oner” with a good, strong heart. He used to say, “If hanging on was an Olympic sport, I would be a champion”. Ron was born September 10, 1932, in Empress, Alberta Canada. His father was Wilbur and his mother was Eva, who died when Ron was young. All his siblings passed before him. He spent his childhood in Canada, Washington, Oregon, and California. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, children, and animals.

Ron enlisted in the Army, underage, received dual citizenship from Canada and the USA, and was stationed in Ft Bliss, Texas hospital. He attended North Seattle Community College, Nursing, and Culinary School. He worked a Harborview, Virginia Mason, and Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington. He married Lorna Brekstad in Lynnwood, Washington on April 15, 1975. He also had two businesses, one in Northgate, Washington, the Whistlestop Deli, and one in Helena, Montana Wildlife

Wood craving.

Ron had put his faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. He believed his sins were forgiven through the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection three days later. Because of his faith in Jesus as Savior, he had confidence he would go to heaven in death and enjoy eternal life in the presence of Jesus Christ the eternal God. He was dedicated to the ministry of Operation Christmas Child, which packs shoe boxes with gifts for children around the world at Christmas.

He is survived by his wife, Lorna, two sons, Ken and Bruce, (his son Jeffery died in childhood) plus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He recently enjoyed three indoor cats, kittens, Rex and mini Rex rabbits, chickens, pigs, and especially the turkeys. Ron enjoyed watching TV with a turkey chick or bunny on his chest. His last goal was to carve a mama bear with two cubs but Lorna will have to do it for him.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Preston, ID, on December 31, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are being handled by Franklin County Funeral Home in Preston, ID.
